How I work
My therapy style is grounded, relational, and body-oriented. I focus on creating safety, increasing self-awareness, and working collaboratively to help you develop more effective ways of relating to yourself and others.
Rather than just talking about the past, we pay attention to what’s happening in the present – in your body, your emotions, and your relationships. This experiential approach helps integrate old wounds and move toward greater vitality and freedom.

Therapies I Use:

-
Gestalt Therapy: Encourages present-moment awareness and personal responsibility.
-
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy: A somatic approach for resolving trauma stored in the body.
-
Mindfulness and Embodiment Practices: Tools to reconnect with yourself
Gestalt Therapy: Gestalt Therapy is an experiential, humanistic approach that encourages present-moment awareness, personal responsibility, and authentic connection. It’s particularly effective for working with unfinished business, emotional blocks, and relational patterns. In therapy, we may explore dialogue, role-play, body awareness, or creative expression as ways of bringing insight and transformation.
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy: Sensorimotor Psychotherapy is a body-centered method developed specifically for treating trauma and attachment wounds. It integrates somatic awareness, neuroscience, and mindfulness to help resolve trauma that is held in the body. This approach is gentle and non-pathologizing – we attend to nervous system responses with curiosity, helping restore safety, connection, and regulation.
Integration: I weave these modalities together in a responsive way based on your needs, drawing from embodied mindfulness, relational presence, and nervous system-informed strategies.

Core elements of Gestalt Therapy
Awareness and Responsibility
I guide my clients to develop a heightened awareness of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, empowering them to take responsibility for their actions and choices. Through increased self-awareness, individuals can make meaningful changes and create a more fulfilling life.
Experimentation and Creative Expression
I encourage clients to engage in experiments and creative expressions within the therapeutic space. By trying new ways of being and expressing themselves, individuals can uncover hidden aspects of their personality and expand their self-understanding.
Integrating Parts of Self
Gestalt psychotherapy recognises that individuals often experience internal conflicts and polarities. I support my clients in exploring these parts and finding resolution, helping them integrate different aspects of themselves and develop a sense of wholeness.
Relational Skill
Gestalt therapy focuses on the here-and-now interactions between therapist and client, viewing these as reflective of broader relational patterns. Through this active engagement, clients gain awareness and experiment with new relational behaviors, enhancing their interpersonal relationships and well-being.
Core elements of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
Trauma Resolution
Sensorimotor psychotherapy offers specific interventions to address the effects of trauma. I facilitate gentle and safe processes for renegotiating traumatic memories, reducing the impact of triggers, and promoting the integration of fragmented experiences.
Somatic Awareness
I guide clients in developing a deeper connection with their bodily sensations, promoting awareness of how the body holds and expresses emotions and experiences. By becoming more attuned to the body's wisdom, individuals can access valuable insights and initiate healing.
Regulation and Resourcing
I support clients in developing self-regulation skills, helping them navigate overwhelming emotions and restore a sense of safety. Through grounding techniques, breath-work, and body-based resources, individuals can build resilience and increase their capacity to manage stress.
Movement and Gestural Experiments
I can guide the client to experiment with different postures, movements, or gestures. This can help release pent-up trauma responses and enable the client to explore alternative ways of experiencing power and control over their own bodies.
